Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 June 2026

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the Paris Eater map at map.pariseater.com. The short version: I keep it to a minimum, I don't sell it, and most of what the Map remembers lives on your own device. The Map is run by Richard Mortimer, trading as Paris Eater.

What I collect

When you buy access. Payment is handled by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. They process your payment details and share with me what I need to fulfil your purchase, such as your email address and the fact that you bought access. I never see or store your full card details.

Email. If you buy access or choose to join the list, your email address is added to my email tool (MailerLite) so I can send your purchase confirmation and the occasional update about new spots. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email.

On your device. To keep you unlocked and to remember your saved shortlist, the Map stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, such as your licence key and your saved places. This stays on your device and isn't a tracking cookie.

Location. If you tap "locate me", your browser asks for permission and your position is used in the moment to centre the map. It isn't sent to me or stored.

Analytics

I may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand how the Map is used in aggregate, such as how many people view the map or reach the unlock step. This doesn't identify you personally.

Who I share it with

Only the services that make the Map work: the payment provider, my email tool and my hosting (Cloudflare). Each handles your data under its own terms. I don't sell your data or share it for advertising.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from emails whenever you like. Email richard@pariseater.com and I'll deal with it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it.
